Why to Live?--The eternal question

Why to live? what is the purpose? .This question came to me very early in life. I kept this question myself and never asked anyone. After some internal searching, i left the question unanswered. There are some questions in life that make life meaningful but what about a question that searches meaning of life itself?

I wondered several times, from where are all the religions came. Which question they are trying to answer.

Several years back, I attended funeral of my grand father's brother. My cousin sister Leela, who was then a little kid asked me a question. The question which made her to occupy a special place in my heart. It went like this "Brother, we are all getting birth, some day we are dying then why we are getting birth? Grandfather's death has made her to come out with this search.

What answer I will give her?. A answer searched by several hundred crore people, several thousand people tried to answer but still it remains unanswered. People have spent their whole life in searching answer for this.

I asked her, what you want to become in future?. She replied "I want to become a doctor". I tried to answer her question by telling ,your life is for becoming a doctor thereby serving people, helping them get relieved of pain.

I wanted to answer the question why to live? but ended up telling her how to live(by serving others). It might have happend that religions were formed to answer this question but ended up telling how to live. If everyone has to serve others, then why everyone has to take birth in first place.

If going by Hindu religion, life is to fulfill past karma. Why at all karmas has to be fulfilled?. If the answer is to reach Nirvana which is unification with universal soul. What if the soul doesnt attains nirvana. Where is our soul? where is universal soul

Christianity says we are here for His(God's) Pleasure. Why we have to be there for pleasing the invisible.

Islam says Allah created all and he knows why he has created us. If Allah created us to worship him, why someone should create someone to worship him?
If God created universe, who created God?

I have no good knowledge of religions. If anyone of you know about answer that exists in any language, please help me.

In finer level everything goes to atomic or even smaller forms. These smaller forms combine, manipulate and become something else. All other forms of life seems to search only for food. Why man wants wealth, fame and so many other things that he cant carry with him to graveyard.

If i stay away from the idea of God and religions, will science answer my question? Then i have a question on evolution itself. If man evolved from monkeys then why are monkeys still around us? Does monkeys show an iota of change that proves they are evolving to be humans after several thousand or million years?

In which direction should i go to search answer? spiritual? philosophical?Scientific.
The search continues

First, understand that u and god are same.what s there in ant is there in u and vise versa for all living being.there may be change in the physical form, colour etc.god is there in all.in short all r god.in tamil god-kadavul is actually vul-kada,vul-kada if u keep saying this u get kadavul.vul-kada means go deep inside.instead of asking questions try to b silent and observe ur questions u will get answer.it differs person to person.but secret key i am just sharing with u.Actually if u go deep inside and observe we are all unknowingly searching in our life for the mother's wombness.Inside the mother's womb u will get anything and everything perfectly on time and correct qty.we enjoyed that and registered in our subconscious mind. After coming out we are all searching the same in the form of money, pride, power etc.but nothing gives satisfaction- why?.because it is not as perfect as mother's womb.so we r not getting satisfied with money, power, pride irrespective of the levels.now coming back 2 ur ? why we live.that u can't decide.because birth s not ur choice.some body is deciding ur birth,So u r living.and u can't destoy ur self because u did't give ur birth, and if u do so u r doing sin.Sin s not like doing bad 4 others it is applicable if u do for urself also.Because ur body, life etc nothing s urs.but purpose - that u can decide and derive and live.So don't worry about why u live.but live with purpose.

Thanks for interesting comment. Rather than worry, it is seeking answer.
Yes, so many people has tried to answer this but no convincing answer. If everyone lives for a purpose then what purpose the whole mankind serves.

In reality, according to science, there is absolutely no meaning or purpose in any form of life. Nature creates, modifies and destroys all life forms.

It is useless to to contemplate a non existent concept like God. All religions are basically created to control and regulate society.

There is no difference between, say a bird or human being. A bird does not contemplate why it was cre3ated or what purpose does it serve. It simply lives and dies.

We human being are at a higher intellectual plane, contemplate these questions just to satisfy our curiosity.

Other than that there is absolutely no difference between any life form that nature created. Our life is too trivial to Natures grand scheme of things. It is no use to deliberate upon a no existent matter.
